My work experience includes working in the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh, Head Gardener with the National Trust for Scotland.

My career as a gardener began with a 5 year apprenticeship with my local council, followed by a year full-time at horticultural college from where I went to the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh for a further 3 years training. I then worked for several years as a Head Gardener with the National Trust for Scotland. After moving back to Edinburgh to work for Distillers Company I decided to go back into full-time education at Newbattle Abbey College followed by Glasgow University where I studied Scottish Literature and Philosophy. In 1996 I set up my own gardening services business.

Garden Design in Edinburgh

A full scale garden design service is available through Gillian Polley at Polley Garden Design. Gillian and I have worked on several gardening projects in Edinburgh together.
